The second Jewish tribe, the Banu Nadir, were accused by Muhammad of plotting to kill him. Muhammad “found out” of this plot through a “revelation” by “Allah”. The Banu Nadir were forced to leave their homes and the Muslims claimed their resources, material possessions and houses. Muhammad then “received” a “revelation” telling him that, this time, all possessions were for him only.
Another important event took place when Muhammad found out that a portion of the Banu Nadir population was still in the city. They had managed to stay hidden inside a fortress. Muhammad then did the following: he convinced them to leave the fortress by promising them peace talks; when the Jews felt safe enough to leave the fortress, Muhammad sent a group of Muslims to escort them to him; when the Jews lowered their guard, Muhammad had the escort group stab them in the back. This is another event that highlights the deceptive nature of Muhammad’s personality and therefore emphasises the role of deception and lying within Islam itself.
